A forgotten masterpiece from legendary old Hollywood director Stanley Kramer, BLESS THE BEASTS AND CHILDREN emotionally scarred a whole generation of kids when it premiered in 1971. A group of neglected social outcasts are sent to summer camp by their disinterested parents. Finding they don't fit in at camp either, they all run away together and decide to take on a cause--saving a group of caged bison from a rifle club's gun fire. As the film's tagline said, Only one animal hunts just for the sport of it. Guess which one? There are a lot of low-quality prints of this movie floating around, but this one is an amazing transfer, with bright, crisp picture and great sound. Pick this one up and relive the pain of adolescence all over again!
