After searching high and low, finally this unjustly forgotten classic has been found! On the surface, 1973's LOLLY-MADONNA is a Hatfield and McCoys story about two rural families and their long-standing feud. On another, more profound level, it's really an allegory for the futility of all wars, Vietnam in particular. Director Richard C. Sarafian, he of VANISHING POINT fame, brings his noted touch for magical realism to this one. The great cast is headed up by Rod Steiger and also features Jeff Bridges, Gary Busey and Randy Quaid, all looking very young. Print quality is fair and features Russian subtitles. It's well worth it though to finally get ahold of this gem!
