Daniel "Mad Dog" Morgan was a real-life Irishman who found himself in Australia in the 1850s as part of a gold rush. Hard times lead him to take part in a highway robbery, for which he is sentenced to 12 years of hard labor. After being abused in prison, he vows revenge and becomes an outlaw hero. Dennis Hopper turns in another quality performance, giving real depth to this innovative biography. Other DVDs really do this film a dis-service by taking this full-screen print and letterboxing it to make it seem like the original widescreen aspect ratio. Although this print is full screen, it is still closer to the way it was filmed.
