The story of Dr. Syn has been told a few times, but this is the version that is mostly fondly remembered. Patrick McGoohan stars as a man in 18th century England who leads an underground revolt against the king. In response to crippling taxation, McGoohan dons a mask and calls himself "The Scarecrow" and heads up a smuggling ring so that the people in his village can afford to live. Incredibly well made, this film has sadly been unavailable for years, despite the demands of legions of fans. Finally, here is a quality print for your enjoyment! Note: This is the theatrical release version of the film. While most fans consider it a stronger version than the padded mini-series upon which it was based, it does have a shorter running time than the TV version.
