Ranking right up there with THE WICKER MAN as one of the finest British horror films of the 1970s, Alan Bates stars as a practitioner of aboriginal magic who decides to use his powers to torment a couple--or rather the husband (John Hurt) so that he can bed the wife (Susannah York). Bizarre, frightening and sure to stick with you long after viewing, THE SHOUT is truly one-of-a-kind, and has unfortunately been difficult to see, especially in the USA. Here's a grade-A quality print that is a must for fans of psychological horror.
